It's a family affair...

The Goodwin family have been farming at Hollybeds since 1952, when Reg and Joyce Goodwin moved in as tenants from Staffordshire. Selling milk has always been a way of life for the Goodwins. In fact Reg had a number of milk vending machines around Worcestershire which he sold his cows milk from.

David, Reg's Son, joined the business after boarding school and College. David was very passionate about cows and built the herd up to 140 milking cows. In 1974 David installed a top of the range herringbone milking parlour in the buildings by the main farmhouse. He also farmed Arable, beef and sheep. David and his wife Sandra, along with their four children Kate, Amy, Sophie and Tom, moved to Hollybeds farm from Severn Stoke in 1992 after Reg passed away and Joyce moved to Ryall. David and Sandra purchased Hollybeds Farm in 1995 on David's 50th birthday and ran the business as a partnership. In 2001 they built and opened Hollylodge, a holiday let on the farm.

Sandra and David's son, Tom joined the family partnership in 2008 after studying Agriculture with Animal Science at Harper Adams University College.  In 2015 Tom married Jo and they now live on the farm with their two daughters.   After over 40 years of hard work, the milking parlour that David had installed was in serious need of updating. The new milking facilities and cow accommodation was carefully planned out and the cows moved in in August 2016. Sadly in 2017 David passed away after a long battle with cancer. Since then Tom, Sandra and Jo have continued to run the farm and expand the business. In 2021 The Really Good Dairy proudly opened it's doors for the first time, enabling people to once again purchase their milk straight from the farm.

three generations later...

It's all about team work!

Today, the milking heard has grown to 280 cows and there are approximately 600 animals on the farm, including a pig, two ponies and a very muddy collie dog. The farm has changed a lot since Reg and Joyce moved in. We now have a dedicated team of nine part time and full time staff who help us run Hollybeds and take fantastic care of our animals. Dairy farming is our life and we love it and our cows! We hope to welcome you to our home soon,

Tom, Jo and Sandra.
